The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

The Day I Saw the Earth Move

I watched a sunset
on the beach at the ocean
The sun touched the horizon
one quarter, one half
Bright, blazing red-orange clouds
Almost down; the sky now pink

Then it dawned on me
I was really observing
our mighty planet spinning
My mind blew gently
in the eternal present
the day I saw the earth move

*The rotation speed of the earth is 1038 mph at the equator

Congrats on a great win. I could relate so well as I have also experienced this same phenomenon the the earth shifting when I was lost in the elements on a beach. if I can find it I will post for you. Cheers, SuZ

succinct, with every word well placed, I like your use of colour within the poem, and "my mind blew gently/in the eternal present" is a very effective line; well done and congrats :)

An awakening of the world and the sense of wonder........a world that we easily take for granted, you make us stop for a moment and ponder with amazement! Love this!
