The Day I Met You
I hear you in the music that once was
noted with affection, like a flower linger
that once was;
Close to my remote that song clung to destiny
fate and other things, half strewn
along the way;
Come what may
I will always remember
the song that was playing
the day you danced me in
I hear you in the sound of the waves,
as they crash against the shore and are no more
close to my heart you will always be, my love
fortune played its role, sadness took its tole
but despite the distance,
I will always remember the song they were playing
the day I met you,
the day you danced me in.
