The Day I Met Sir Norman Wisdom

I used to waitress in a restaurant to earn some extra money One night we had a very special diner he was incredibly funny I wasn’t aware he was dining until he walked in through the door My mouth was agog with amazement I almost dropped down to the floor I welcomed him in with a big grin and he made a little joke He tweaked my nose and made me laugh as he did the other folk He held court at the dining table I’d listen in when I was able We now have Sir Norman’s Bar in Douglas City Sir Norman has now passed it was such a great pity The walls of the bar are plastered with relics of this lovely man I love to look at these photos whenever I can His funeral was like a state event the traffic it stood still He still has fans all over the world I hope he always will My husband attended the funeral and gave the coffin a stroke Will never forget ‘Sir Norman’ such a wonderful funny bloke Jan Allison 26th March 2014

My father loved Norman Wisdom and he left me a couple of old VHS tapes of Norman's films , I used to laugh just watching him laugh , Dad was right ,Norman didn't need to tell a joke . His laugh was so infectious.

hahaha, I knew this was going to be hilarious when passing it's title as category or better labeling under, humorous ... wisdom, can be in truth such innocent folly perhaps ? especially when one considers the heavens and so on and so forth ... good job Jan, and thanks for the laugh ~ yours truly, jeremy

Thanks for the lovely comment Jeremy - I was at Sir Norman's bar the other week - I must go and sit on the bench outside it where there is a bronze of the great man and have my photo taken with him. Thanks for dropping by. Jan x
