The Day I Lost You
As I sit here in the morning dew
I think of all the things we planned to do
I think of how we were going to live
And of all the gifts that you used to give
I think of the wonderful love we shared
And of all the ways you showed you cared
When one day it all seemed to go away
I wasn't sure what to do or what to say
I wish I could take back the day your love died
And all the months when all I did was cried
I know that I might never get over you
Because it's been two years since you said we're through
I know you've moved on and met someone new
Your love has grown for her because I feel it, I know you
She came into your life in a time when you were still mine.
You said that you were in love with me, then you crossed the line
It's all left me with an emptiness inside
A void of shame, I wanted to forget you
But I couldn't no matter how hard I tried
So I sit here in the morning dew
Thinking of the day when I lost you
