The Darkness At Noon
The Darkness at Noon
A rapidly dying universe in astronomic confusion
Star-studded galaxies swirling in chaotic motion
Suns spontaneously self-combusting
Planets erratically dancing
Moons randomly colliding
Black holes voraciously absorbing light
There will be darkness at noon.
Nature in passionate rebellion
Angry and wreaking unprecedented havoc
Unexplained and unpredictable phenomena
El Niño, global climate changes, earthquakes
Catastrophic tsunamis and bleeding volcanoes
Comets crazily streaking across the sky
Run-away meteors bumped off their predetermined paths
Harbingers of universal devastation
The darkness is sure to come at noon.
Paradise regained and paradise lost
Winged angels and horned demons clash in ferocious, eternal battle
In an ever-expanding, contracting, and pulsating universe
Silvery bolts of primeval lightning
Ominous sonic booms of thunder
As rabid gods furiously join in the wild feeding frenzy
Fleeting glimpses of sweet heaven and a red, fiery hell
Then absolute, perfect nothingness
Make no mistake – at noon there shall be total darkness.
