The Curtain of Pain Fell Upon Us

The cotton runs high in the Taliban sky
Resistance continues, into the south.
I watch nightly news with a heavy sigh
Not letting judgments escape from my mouth.

I see the pain that rues life for the same
For their families each suffer loss too.
For those seeking revenge or seeking fame
They know not what damage to souls they do.

Children need to come first, not the adverse
In a sinful will that tears life apart.
Bless all who try to obtain a reverse
That fight for God's light that dwells in their heart.

May love spread throughout in pink healing light
That peace may finally dwell with insight.

This is a sad reflection of painful truths in our world. Let us continue to pray and strive for peace, especially for the sake of the children of the world. ~ John

Love, peace, and God. Let's hope the people who make the decisions about war will think about all three, and not be so hasty. They have already destroyed the souls of so many.

Thank you Jennifer. The news is so difficult to watch but to ignore it is to put your head in the sand and I can't do that. I know that prayer helps. Thank you for your lovely comment. xxoo

Connie, we don't need a war anymore. Chicago is gruesome. Christians and Jews are killed at services Nationwidem 66,000 babies murdered a year. Satan has his hooves entrenched everywhere! Am I Wrong? Through God, peace may come. Love your message!!Panagiota

Thank you BG I feel the same. I like watching David Muir, if I spelled his name correctly. He ends his news with a heartwarming story usually. : ) xxoo

I see these conflicts' and can't help but wonder what phychological damage is done to the innocent children , will they too grow up with hate in their hearts. Well written Connie and a hope that peace will become the norm. Tom

Awesome, caring sentiments in your poem Connie. Children and families are often innocent victims of the warring world. I join you in wishing for peace..an excellent sonnet you wrote.

I grieve for all the children enduring fear and physical pain as well as emotional pain of loss and of having such little value as to have an explosive strapped to their body. It is a terror that will never be forgotten even if they escape to live on. Bless all who try to protect their children with their lives. Thank you Vijay. I appreciate your wonderful comment. xxoo
