The Curse of Willing Ignorance

There is so much we need to learn
and for this knowledge, we should yearn.
Life here below is like a school
and no one needs to be a fool.

As human beings, we love routine
which helps to keep life neat and clean.
Those things in life that demand change,
cause us our lives, to rearrange.

Some refuse to accept what’s new
So, they can keep their point of view.
They miss the blessings knowledge brings
and become like birds with clipped wings.

The Pharisees of Jesus’ day
refused to accept Christ, The Way.
Tradition held them like a chain,
His quest to free them was in vain.

Their response to the signs Christ did,
caused their hearts to become turbid.
At last, their hatred reached the brim,
their murder plot got rid of Him.

Today men try their very best
to reject the truth when it’s expressed.
They are consumed by a crass craze,
the power of truth to erase.

Professing themselves to be wise
they are deemed foolish in God’s eyes
and reap the fruit of Folly’s ways
of restless nights and fruitless days.

The path of truth life’s fulness brings.
Ignorance binds minds in iron rings.
Those who choose to become truth-averse,
invoke to themselves Causal’s curse.

So, do not walk in Folly’s ways
but choose to bask in Wisdom’s rays.
Open your mind, embrace the Truth,
He is the Way, to eternal youth.
