The Crossing

If I dreamt would I,
Walk to sleep?
If the hills could climb,
I’d weep
For the promise
Is not
Set forth
Being first to break up leaves
Emptiness.

Unfulfilled questions linger but,
They do die
In remembrance one will cry.
But not always
One will
Speak up
To reconcile
The past.
