The Crosses In Your Eyes

You smile at me, telling me
"everything is ok....."
You have your shades on,
even when there's no sun
to burn your eyes.
I know you are a strong woman
in the outside,
who is afraid of illuminating her hurts
deep within.
You know if I look deep into your eyes,
I'll see the burden you carry;
I'll see the crosses in your eyes.....
