"the Crosse"

A mutual march of transient brotherhood.
The would-be sport of kings and queens.
Violence is thy name, oh crosse, for times test you have withstood.

"weapon of death" and "bringer of life", two roles you gladly play.
From death on the run to sport just for fun,
Through ages you still stay.

Though recognition is never given, you've kept men alive.
Battles o'er both life and goal,
With warrior and player you've strived.

It's interesting how the creative mind works. We don't want to just say something, we dress it up with pretty words & put it in a certain format. The eloquence you put in your writing determines how powerful the effect has on your readers, & this is very eloquent. :)
