The Cremation of Your Love

I cremated you In scorching flames of passion His blaze a consuming fire Now only ashes I have no tears left to cry The kind wind bears you away Eileen Manassian Ghali

What starts with getting your fingers burnt soon turns into a bonfire with you don't it lol. I guess we all deal with these things in a different way, A beautifully expressed poem. Anyone reading this could take it as good advice, Truly Agony Aunt material, Take care, Richard

I love this!... especially that last line "The kind wind bears you away". My mom always told me that when she dies, she wants to be cremated and then thrown into the ocean, a place that she loved. I know a lot of people do it, but holding onto urns filled with ashes is a bit too disturbing for me... well done on this!

Oh Timothy. I want to be cremated as well. It is really frowned on here, but...I can't stand the idea of being in a box being claustrophobic and all...I know I'll be dead, but I'm a free spirit and I'd love to think my ashes are sprinkled somewhere in nature. We'll see! Yea...the urn thing doesn't sit well with me either. Thanks for the visit! :)

My pleasure, Sara. Yes, sad...but sometimes inevitable. We do what we can to move on. Hugs

Damn. Intense, yet sad. A "welcome back" to being free, perhaps? Excellent job!

Thanks, Drake. :) Sometimes....we just have to let go, eh? I wrote a poem entitled Immortal in which I "expound" on the truth that the heart's dead are never buried...Well, this is the counterpart which says...OK...Get rid of that carcass. The love is long gone and dead...MOVE ON!!!
