The Cradle of Civilization
Who wouldn't like to know
The rapture of trees,
Of caw, caw,
Chirp, chirp,
Swoosh, swoosh--
Silent beginnings,
Before thought breaks in?
Become your own
Cradle of civilization;
The fertile crescent
Of your own creativity;
The joy of sunrise
At Machu Picchu;
Or Stonehenge in your
Own backyard.
Daily rituals
Praise the dirt and clover.
Butterflies travel great distances,
Creating a network
Of helping wings that
Cover the globe with
Joy and gratitude.
