The Collie and I
Red
It was a cool, Spring night.
We lit the fireplace, a cozy sight.
Red, my collie, a double for Lassie,
Nuzzled up for a treat, his saucer
shaped eyes, ah!
So very warm and so classy.
I went to the kitchen, glowing
amber from the flames,
Here came Red, his treat to claim.
Ah~ a scene of peace if there
ever was one,
For with Red, you see....
I experienced happiness and the
most perfect affection and serenity.
