The Collie and I

Red It was a cool, Spring night. We lit the fireplace, a cozy sight. Red, my collie, a double for Lassie, Nuzzled up for a treat, his saucer shaped eyes, ah! So very warm and so classy. I went to the kitchen, glowing amber from the flames, Here came Red, his treat to claim. Ah~ a scene of peace if there ever was one, For with Red, you see.... Red my collie, and guess what? Blue was my Husky's name. Blue lived 8 years; adored the dog and the name! The artist inside you could not resist, could it? A peaceful poem. Made me smile.

Thank you! I used to care for my daughter's ailing dog for three years. Ah, when he passed, I could not stop crying. He was a dear, dear animal! I am crying as I write this.((( Panagiota
