Shh…..! Don’t scare them away! Let us watch this macabre dance and enjoy the art in rivalry! A battle between two champions. both in the arena, armed with nothing but teeth and fangs, stationed immobile face to face, eyes emitting sparks of ire. A cobra with spectacled hood wide hissing and shrieking, spitting fire and fume and a mongoose with bushy tail up. Who would win this murderous combat? Yet to see! Golly… gosh!

Nature at its best,? I think I'm partial to the mammal. I enjoy the mystery.

Oh my, i would be terrified to see that, macabre dance. Do you see alot of cobras in kerala? I never thought you would. This is brilliant and i love the flow of this and how seamlessly youve woven words dear sweet valsa! “ hissing and shrieking, spitting fire and fume” excellnt wordplay there. I bet cobra will win? I wonder now! Youv left me wanting to read a part two for this clever and fun write! Whatever you write, i just enjoy reading! And this is no exception! Best wishes! A fave for sure

Dear Valsa, Wow, this could be a true Poe tale that leaves us in suspense. When I was a boy, I remember reading a story about Rikki Tikki the mongoose and Nag and Nagaina, a pair of deadly cobras that pose a threat to the family and the other animals in the garden. I love poems that kick in an emotion. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Very cool. I saw a video on something similar but I think it was a squirrel rescuing another squirrel. It was so dramatic

The cobra and mongoose fights are well known in Indian folk lore. Nice portrayal with vivid imagery. Well done.

Whoa!! Courageous little fellow. I have heard of both, and I think I will look the mongoose up to get a little information about them. Seems like they are immune to the venom or something like that. Sara
