Notes About The Poem

The Christmas Spirit

Lights sparkle and glimmer around the tree A emerald pine draped in burgundy and gold Whispering of miracles discovered in hearts Who make the journey of hope and faith To remember the love that was given birth On this silent night, all those years long past When a dear Savior was brought to the earth Little reminders of our Redeemer stirs embers Flames of inspiration as brilliant as creation Coloring the world in hues of joy and satisfaction Truth that awakens the spirit to feelings of praise Enlivening prayers with satisfaction from knowing God’s grace comes alive with the intimacy found In the deliverer, the One who is the light of the soul Love this blessed and wise shines its spark through Adornments of the season, all flickering with pleasure Arousing feelings of peaceful dreams that flow through Veins filled with energy that lives through the darkest Storms and enchants the truth to come forth in the heart Who knows that love so thriving with brilliant waves Of insight and inspiration – is filled with the Christmas spirit A spirit that mesmerizes and charms, sends chills across The naked thoughts… music breathed through the soul Fascinating rays of feathery glimmers, serenity and praise Filling lives with purpose and songs with vibrant verses A knowing that swirls and swarms with vitality so strong That only the purest passion and worship could arise From feelings so tender and triumphant they exhale affection The Christmas Spirit glitters and shines, like a diamond So rich with wonder and warmth, wishes for gifts of time Truth and tantalizing reveries – aspirations of the heart Who knows that it is God’s Son, who was born this night And brings peace beyond our conscious – silent amity Filled with the promise of a tomorrow built on compassion That comes from following the lead of this spirit of Christmas
