I have written this poem using the invented form of Emile Pinet called, Seven-Ten - using syllables 7/7/10/10/10 for 4 times plus 7/7, centered with no rhyming for 22 lines total with no break and posted under Verse.

Oh, let me pen a few words about my childhood days please I can recall far back to about two and I get glimpses of such happiness of playing with my dolls and teddy bears and running with my sister mother chasing us laughing I was five when death came to visit us snatching my beloved sister away oh, I was never the same girl again I withdrew inside of me and felt no need to speak words no one could reach me in my silent place until grandma reached me with poetry on her lap I listened to her reading I listened to spoken words of her heritage and life she gave me the gift of storytelling I would sit quietly and pen some words then I read aloud to my family and thus by the age of twelve I was a poet of words _____________________________ October 30, 2019 Poetry/Verse/The Child Who was Me Copyright Protected, ID 1192-431-02 All Rights Reserved. that was really effective how you melded the theme of two to twelve taking us up to age 12 when you were a full fledged poet. Very nice one, Constance and congrats for your win.

Beautiful!! For sure, too often society tends to discard, throw-away such precious wells of wisdom and love--our grandparents.

Joe, thank you for visiting my poetry and for commenting, my grandma was so important in my life and her death shattered me but she left me with the gift of storytelling and that has meant everything !
