The Changing Lotus
In light and shadow wherever I walk
Dismembered dialogues always stalk
Splattered life on leaves and flowers
Broken are our crystal hours
We are at a loss in this age of cheap blood
Where we will save our moon and bud
No point in looking to the church
We ourselves our ground besmirch
In light and dark we walk in fear
None to help the old King Lear
Everywhere an ice cold fear
Pest in all that we hold dear
But we are born not to sigh and die
Not to shudder frown and withdraw
We have kissed the orange of our sky
We have tasted your honey raw
Can we afford to get into the black hole
No, never, go to the music chorus
Says the bird from your rose bowl
Listen to the call of the changing lotus
Let’s try to discover fresh doors
Towards a sustained music of life
That may lead to another sunny shore
To squarely face our modern strife
Look there in the rise of ocean
Yours and mine joint religion
Let me feel your pulsating release
From the anxiety in my sky blue ease
