The Changing Face of Shame

So much has changed in the past 50 years or so one thing is the word shame once a friend now our foe Half a century ago it had a fear a true fear of God was felt among a generation back then when one's heart would easily melt Churchgoing then was popular not to attend brought one shame generally, most of the time did believe it's all changed but who's to blame? Today to believe in God and Christ one's told you've gone completely mad mankind thinks they know it all such anti-God foolishness is so sad Jesus said in the latter days this would come Man would love self more than God believers must keep hold of the faith despite shame hold fast to your sword Don't be ashamed of God's word keep on believing no matter what for God will reward your belief defeating His enemy's deep dark plot

Another good reminder. I enjoy your rhyming and content! I like to look at shame and guilt as tools the enemy uses to bring us down and make us useless. God will convict us of sin, the Holy Spirit will nudge us when needed. Conviction is different than guilt because it brings about a change! Conviction, repentance, Forgiveness., Good choices. While it seems guilt goes something like, Guilt, shame, defensiveness, more shame. Guilt from the enemy and conviction from God! Thanks for the poem! Xo

Thanks for taking my comment as intended, with love and encouragement. Sometimes I come across preachy and don't mean to lol. We each have times to edify our brothers and sisters so we will take it in turn! Your poem was edifying to me, thank you! Xo

Dear Gordon, as Ecclesiastes 1:9 states : ' there is nothing new under the sun. ' It's all been done before, it's just now, technology is more advanced. So sad that this is the kind of world we live in. There's so many false teachers out there as well. Thank you for always shining a light and for being an inspiration here. Many wonderful blessings to you. Hugs, Brandy

Hey Gordon, What a powerful reflection on shifting attitudes towards faith over the years. Your words capture the essence of a time when belief was steadfast and pervasive, contrasting it with today's skepticism and disbelief. I love your unwavering conviction in the face of societal changes is inspiring. Keep spreading the message of faith and resilience—your voice is a beacon of light in a world that sometimes feels dark. - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel
