The Change In Me

At dusk shall hatch the seed They creep from cracks to sever, mutilate and shred And they breed Then feed - insane Their banquet lies within my head Warm brain Mind - ill But not yet dead Kill At dusk shall hatch the seed Their banquet lies within my head Kill

Thanks, Karen. I’d bet when Halloween draws near, my pen will be struck dumb.

Dark read Terry - rather psychotic inside that head! Love it! :)

I'm not fond of a lot of rules either Terry. I just want to write (hopefully good) poetry that appeals to at least a few. :) This poem of yours, however, turned out great! Love your belligerent streak! :)

Took a while, Lin. I kept discovering yet another rule I hadn’t adhered to. Normally, with too many rules I decide the contest isn’t worth the effort, but I stuck with this one out of sheer belligerence. Terry

It would starve to death inside my head for it will find no trace of brain matter there. Such a creative description of this zombieesque creature. Good luck in the contest my friend.

Thanks, Jerry. Not a form I would normally indulge, but I gave it a go and this was it… after a thousand (?) rewrites.

Pretty intense creature you've outlined. It sounds like a vegan zombie type of thing.

How dare you call my brain a cauliflower! Ha ha! In my mind it’s a brain eating ‘thing’. Thanks for your thoughts, David.
