The Chains

I had wrestled with the demons in the darkness of the sea then God had mercy
on my soul and softly spoke to me.
My heart had been trampled,my spirit lost in pain and bitterness overwhelmed
me like a steady fallen rain.
Each new day seemed bleaker, hope hidden deep within, the demons that
gnarled at me held me captive in their den.
The reflection in my mirror bore no joy nor peace and I knew only God could put
my heart at ease.
I tried to pray for wisdom, for strength to overcome but the chains from the
demons had not been let undone.
Then God appeared to me one night and spoke as never before, telling me
forgiveness would open my hearts' door.
Now the reflection in my mirror shows no lingering signs of pain because God
wrestles with the demons and God undid the chains.
                                                                                  by Dixie George
