The Cardinal and the Rose
Bright red bouquet of cheeks, a ruddy sweet.
Strawberry twist, like licorice - a treat.
The cardinal, robust. The rose blossom -
Its warm inviting blaze-fireball, awesome.
Like Winter dove - white rose in depth of snow.
A passion flies - red ribbon wings aglow.
Immersion of soaring petals and chirps -
A radiant consolation usurps.
Exposed in palms of Christ’s pierced hands.
A pair of souls present o’er grieving lands.
