The sun is up, and I'm up. Both the sun and I are up, we're up, we're up Off with my sleeping clothes, off it goes, off it goes, On with my play clothes, on it goes, on it goes, Down the steps, I go, though careful I go, careful though, careful I go, The breakfast table is where I sit and eat, sit and eat, seats I, Mom eats and looks at me, looks and smiles, and smiles and smiles, Mom says, "If you're done, wash up, then go out and play!" Wash then play, Mom says, Mom says, Out the door, I run, run I out the door, I run and run, My toy boat is in my pocket, it is in my pocket, my toy boat is, I see the park where the small stream flows, it flows and flows, There are people, everywhere. They are here and there ... they are everywhere, There are a few people by the small stream, just a few, just a few, Out of my pocket into the stream, my toy boat goes, it floats and flows downstream it goes, The people are running and leaving, here and there and everywhere, The pitter-patter of little rainwater, pitter-patter, pitter-patter, Go away rain go away and come back another day, Oops, I forgot, I did say that yesterday and the rain had stopped, it did stop, it did, I guess today it looks that way, my bad, my bad, today's the day, Back into my pocket, my toy boat, my toy boat, Now, back to the house, I run, and run, Sigh, I'm wet, I'm wet, I am wet to the bones, Back home to Mom, I run and run, I may be wet, but Mom will smile, she'll smile, she will, Though not at first, just a bit concerned, just a bit, you know she'll be, I'll take a warm bath and put on some dry clothes, Then I'll do whatever, but just a tad every once in a while, I'll turn and smile and she'll smile too, Now that is not bad, not bad at all ... Car for a boat, eh! Ram, ram, varoom!
