The Candles of Life
Candles come in many colors
Shapes and sizes too
You search to pick a candle
For the light it provides for you.
Our lives are much like candles
Some tall some short some round
We know not how long our flame will burn
Or be quenched without a sound.
Is your candle burning bright today?
Or does it flicker with the wind
Does the sweet scent of kindness flow
Or is hatred and jealousy within
Is it burning with a glowing flame,
or weak and close to the end?
Do you shine for all who come your way
with the glow of love for them?
Oh stand tall and let the world see
That flame you hold inside
Carry your love as a guiding light
Let peace in your soul abide
Your candle of life touches many souls
Your words guide many paths
With the gift of love you light the way
For those who carry wrath
No matter what the winds of life bring
Let your flame burn strong and bright
For if our hearts hold true loves light
the world and love unite!
