The Calmness of Silence

A land mine silently lays dormant concealed on the ground When suddenly, hysteria screams EMANATE from all around. A boy innocently was playing is SWIRLING through the air He had triggered that mine not knowing it was there. SYNTHETIC fibres in his clothes had melted into his skin A life changing journey for this boy was about to begin. Nerves message an ILLUSION that his legs are still there Which sends him spiralling into a depression of loss and despair. His bones and burnt skin slowly heal over time Though RUSTIC his movements, it is a gruelling cruel climb. The rehabilitation seemed TIMELESS that heavily wore him down Anger, frustration and depression, this young child is starting to drown. Time eased his nightmares which gave him some peace He learnt a new way of living and changing life skills techniques. Time passed by quickly, BLOSSOM again bloomed on the trees Teaching his new focus, he gained all his educational degrees. An ambassador for peace and for areas where children can safely play Educates the dangers of mines and how hidden they lay. His voice is not silent when maiming children through violence. Let there be peace and harmony, the calmness of SILENCE.

Thank you so much Janice and sorry for the late reply. The cruelty, horror and destruction is so devastating and the life long changes it brings to many innocents is heartbreaking. Emilia.

They should be banned, so many get killed or injured after a war or a conflict is over. Lovely to see you back Emilia, hope you're keeping well. Tom

Thank you Tom, is lovely to see you too. They should be cleared or least told where they are so they can be made safe. It just continues the pain and suffering. Just so devastating. Emilia : )

Thank you Deb and is always lovely to see you too : ) I prefer to have some kind of positive ending to the darker side of life. These things can and do happen and give people purpose. Light out of darkness kind of thing. Just wish those hidden mines didn't exist. Emilia : )
