The Calling
Thoughts of you run through my mind
like that of a train traveling in the twilight,
miles and miles of scenery to breathe in,
your laugh, your words, YOU -- mark the way,
every mile passed gets me closer,
closer to my destination,
always nearer to you.
The oncoming darkness lighted by your beauty,
the speed now controlled by desire,
the thoughts of you will not be derailed,
the reverberating sound of its engine
still churning as the night draws to a close.
The dawn only brightens the miles of YOU...
for there is a sound in the distance
of that very train -- I will always hear its call.
