The Call
Have you ever sat by the telephone
For days, and weeks on end
Waiting for some good news
For your real life to begin.
The phone call that tells you
You'd better make some plans,
As you've won the biggest lottery
In the history of the land.
Or someone wants to buy your house
They want it very much
They just can't live without it,
And offer you big bucks.
Your husband calls to tell you
He got that big promotion,
Now we can buy that huge estate
That sits beside the ocean.
So very time my phone does ring
I don't mind at all,
I'll be sitting here beside it
I wouldn't want to miss THE CALL.
