I wrote this for a friend, please tell me what you think of it. Heart pounds at the sound of your name, It beats for only you, My stolen glances, At your playful smile, The things I wish you knew. I love you so much my chest hurts, Heart straining to be free, Held in place by rules, A warning to all, A warning to you and me. It's not ok to be different, Not ok to be me, If you're not like them, They don't give a damn, No not about you and me. They don't think that we are people, With feelings just the same, Their words hurt like hell, And all that they do, Is create our sense of shame. I'm not ashamed to be different, I'm not ashamed to love you, You won't love back, Cos the lies they've told, Have now taken you too.
