The Burt Reynolds

Time’s never obliged ~ Heedless, impetuous fame Exacerbates traits… But factitious facades fade UV-rays on gelcoats, craze… Retouch, unfinished ~ Tide oblivious, streams on Rising and ebbing… Eyes old smile recognition Young ones urge explanation… Names so soon obscure ~ Ocean sinking impetus Leaves afloat, excerpts… Darn! That cannonball race zipped! Speedy generations flash… (3/7/2021: Caribbean, Windmill Cove)

He was an icon for all times. He made turtle necks cool for men to wear. I enjoyed this tribute, Susan. :)) ~Sus

gosh, I did not even connect the cannonball thing like Michelle did. I am so out of things these days. Did he recently die? I am so dense. (yes, I just went and saw two years ago he died) What is Windmill Cove about?

Oh goodness I didn’t know that he died! Windmill Cove is a marina on the delta here :)

I remember 'The cannonball run' - glad to see it mentioned here - I love the internal rhymes of 'time/obliged' and 'unfinished, oblivious' - no matter how we delay, the final march is inevitable~

There exists to me, in this poem a serene dismay. It harkens of mortality's inevitability Susan. I like the style that this poem was written in...J.A.B.
