The Bully

Why are you being so cruel to me?
What did I do or say?
Why do you verbally abuse me
When I try to walk away?
You may not like my style
Or even the clothes I wear,
But you do not have permission
To hurt me without a care.
I shed a lot of tears
As soon as I got home;
Because you wouldn't listen
When I said, "Leave me alone!"
My head is slowly spinning
And my heart is filled with pain:
I hope and pray that I will never
Go through this again.
You've tried to bring me down,
That was your sinister plan;
But God was there to lift me up--
And now, here I stand.
I have family and friends
Who love and care for me;
My message to the bully is:
"I've got the victory!"
You're nothing but a coward,
And you're not very clever:
But karma will catch up with you;
May your actions haunt you forever.

Great depiction of the effects of bullying --- including, of course, the resolve to rise above it. Thanks, gw
