The Book of Her Life
The first few pages are blurred, hazy and worn
For this, she is saddened, desolate and forlorn
Those were the memories that were to always last
Remembered with love when thinking of the past
Chapters in the middle are crystal clear and bright
Full of children, love, life and passionate delight
The brilliant colors and smells of living seep each page
It seems as though this time is her own perfect age
Blank and unwritten are the final chapters of her book
So conscious of all the winding paths she may have took
Knowing they could have lead to a different final bit of prose
Hindsight and doubt simply is not the kind of life she chose
She does not regret any writing left within this life’s record
Having lived life for life has been it’s own sweet reward
