The Book

I went for a walk
I looked forward
To a book lying
Ready to read
Read; sitting on the porch
The road ahead
Clear as day
The sky opened up
The rain poured down
Poured down on me
The sun lighted up the rain
The bus driver floored it
As he passed me by
Wet; soaking wet
The rain stopped; suddently
I went by the stadium
The artificial turf shone with life
The sun hid behind a dark cloud
Now; I’m reading a book
Wet behind the ears
Sitting on the sofa
