The Bill
The bill
I’ll shift my mood, I’ll do it fast
The hurt, I’ll feel it later
I’ll put the pain of others first
For now I’ll be their waiter
A kiss, a hug, a smile, a nod
I’ll give it all, I’m strong
A listening ear, a gentle touch
I’ll show them they belong
No tears from me, I’ll keep it dry
I shouldn’t, no, not now
I know I need a break myself
I want to, yes, but how?
For now I’ll just tend to the needs
Of everyone for free
The costs are rising, pretty soon
The bill will be sent to me.
