The Bigot

THE BIGOT

Having settled into a firmament
of tarnished soil,
your sprouted roots
bring forth sullied growth.

What was blessed
by the sun at birth,
now hides
in deep shadows
of the moon,
living half a life in darkness
creating the fear that
comes from a wolf's howl.

 SYNOPSIS of 'THE BIGOT'

We are born innocent,
but soon learn to distrust.
Racial prejudice, bigotry,antisemitism
emboldens and excites ignorance
and soon hate becomes the bigot's
religion of choice.

In this world caution is often confused with bigotry. For obvious reasons.

Wonderful write! We are not born knowing how to hate, it is taught.

Bigotry is bigotry and too many attempt to justify it. It is a TAUGHT trait. Hatred is an acid. It will eventually destroy the vessel that holds it. I am certain our government fuels the fires of bigotry to keep the people from uniting and finding out just how corrupt it really is.

True, Our government like all others has its share of prejudiced people. We the people must employ the constitution and put into effect those words which states that all men are created equal. We are the caretakers of this great nation and must be vigilant to protect the freedoms we cherish.

Living half a life in darkness....as on the moon....I like your philosophical look at the cause of bigotry.

We seldom talk about those issues and felt someone should at least mention what we all know about. Thanks for your comment.
