Cain murdered Abel long ago He couldn’t stop his jealous soul From killing a brother who he should have loved One who’s blood would call out from the earth Noah built that ark for the world To be able to live again after the flood He built it to God’s specifications for his work Giving room for his family and so many creatures David killed Goliath with a stone Never worried about dying at the giant’s sword He was sure that God would make a stand And give him the victory over this giant man Esther, a Jew, was given to the King as a bride She was filled with awe at the glorious state she found But to save the Jews she would need to defy her King And that she did only to discover it was always God’s will Job lost everything, even his family and health He wandered why his God was taking it all Still he praised the One who made everything And it was given back to him, even more than in the beginning Daniel prayed to the Lord three times a day Despite the king’s refusal to allow him to pray He didn’t listen, but gave the Lord his every praise In the lion’s den, he was not afraid and came out unscathed John the Baptist went through the wilderness baptizing He told his followers that they must repent of their sins Soon it was the wonder of all, sweet Jesus, he baptized And saw the dove come down with the Holy spirit on Him Jesus came into out world as a sweet little baby Born of a virgin and able to save all the nations He went to the cross and gave us all second chances To be saved and go to a place we call heaven Throughout the Bible, there have been so many wonders Lives that lived by faith brought endless adoration To the One who’s grace is always upon us, loving us And giving us the opportunity to begin a relationship with His Son

You did a great job telling long stories in a few words. I also love the picture you added.........

All true, 100%... Not that it really matters, but (I imagine you are aware that) every archaeological discovery in Israel and Egypt over the past century or so has confirmed the Biblical accounts of what happened. Only occasionally are a few of them off by more than a year or two as well. And that is no doubt due to certain still-inaccurate scientific dating techniques. Need I mention that with me, you are 'preaching to the choir?' Powerfully penned, Regina! Warmest wishes, Gershon

You have managed to include several stories in rhyme Regina. The story that always got to me the most was about Job. I don't have a thimble of his endurance for pain I'm afraid. This tribute to the bible is beautiful Regina. xxoo
