The Better Man

You look at me, and think you know,
from the color of my eyes,
all my thoughts, my hopes and dreams,
but you just might be surprised.
Your quick conclusions, on the fly,
are far too quick to judge…
There’s more to me than meets the eye.
Will your mindset ever budge?
So shake my hand, and I will leave.
It matters not what you believe…
But if you see me in new light,
and you wish to voice regret,
just know that I think well of you,
and sincerely wish you best.
If you find resolve to look within,
and begin to let your mindset bend,
they say forgiveness sets you free,
and that's who we're all supposed to be…

“When we think we have been hurt by someone in the past, we build up defenses to protect ourselves from being hurt in the future. So the fearful past causes a fearful future and the past and future become one. We cannot love when we feel fear.... When we release the fearful past and forgive everyone, we will experience total love and oneness with all.” ? Gerald G. Jampolsky
