The Betrayal of Brothers

A single error in judgment,
A glimpse of time that follows us,
Generation to Generation.
This clouds our DNA, forcing legacies,
Against fathers and sons,
Brother against brother.
Decisions made,
Apologizes ignored,
Forgiveness asks, and answers become silent.
Those decisions are unforgivable.
God's law, but is it man's law?
Many do not understand,
Others don't care.
Families are broken,
Never to be repaired,
Abels murder,
Cains regret, and,
A debt we can never forget.

Dear Shirley, your reflection on the timeless tale is haunting. The weight of decisions and their repercussions across generations echoes through your words. The legacy of betrayal and its toll on families shows the complexities of human relationships. I loved how your portrayal of Abel's murder and Cain's regret encapsulates the enduring themes of remorse and redemption. This is a very evocative piece. Blessings, Daniel

Thanks, Deb, for your kind comments. I hate being morbid, but I often wonder how the past affects us in the future. Ha! I find myself getting philosophical in these early morning hours. Ha-ha! I appreciate your comments; thank you so much.
