The Best of Me

My youth is scattered o'er the sea,
The very best of who was me--
So toss a wreath upon the bay,
My youth has sadly passed away.

The blue-green waves my ashes keep,
A sacred thing upon the deep--
And should someone my ashes see;
They will have found the best of me.

The best of you is here and now, Mel. I beg to disagree. Youth is in your heart. Lovely poem nonetheless.

I agree, sweetheart. I don't recall when or where I wrote this, but imagery aside, I'm a big kid--sometimes. Hey, compared to the Oak tree out front, I'm a child. Good hearing from you...xox...Mel :)
