We used to have a Mulberry tree, well several out back. Every Spring into Summer, the flying foxes (fruit bats) would gorge themselves with the berries and then, inevitably, all the cars and the paintwork on houses, as well as anyone without forewarning or knowledge, leaving clothes hanging on the line overnight, would arise the next morning to discover purple poo over everything. I love this poem of yours Darlene, very much. With very little use of words and it's delicate sensitivity,it shows great depth and feeling about the berry tree and the analogy aligned with it. X
