The Believers Righteous Clothing - Zechariah 3: 1-5
Here we have the confrontation of good and evil
the angel of the Lord confronts Satan set to accuse
this is the battle of spiritual reality way up high
God the powerful determined never to lose
Here in Joshua is a picture of all believers
showing Satan set to take us to his own
but the angel of the Lord ready to protect us
for God's promised to keep His own flesh and bone
The Lord challenged Satan to his face
for he knew his plan to do his attack
but God rebuked him for his people's sake
a brand plucked from the fire no lack
His people's filthy garments he removed
telling them they're clean now made pure
just as Jesus took away our sin
dying in our place for a spiritual cure
The angel placed a clean turban
on his head with clothes to truly fit
now the believer is in Christ within
clothed in perfect righteousness having no sin
Zechariah 3: 1-5 (esv)
(Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan[a] standing at his right hand to accuse him. And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand[b] plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was standing before the angel, clothed with filthy garments. And the angel said to those who were standing before him, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.” And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord was standing by.)
