The Beaver and the Eagle

“Hi Eagle, loonie for your thoughts?” “Hey Beaver, what made them choose you for a national animal?” “I’m a symbol of perseverance and strength, persistence and hard work, eh.” “Oh I see, I thought it was their sense of humor.” “Well Eagle, we’re dam funny too. Care for a timbit?” “What in the world is a timbit?” “It’s like donut holes we eat with our Tim Horton’s.” “Who’s Tim Horton?” “It’s coffee, on every corner. We all have at least three a day. No matter what.” “Everyday? That seems like a lot. What if they’re closed? Or if there’s a blizzard? ” “That’s an odd question. They’re never closed and blizzards don’t stop anyone in hockey season.” “Hmm, so it’s like Starbuck’s here, or football and beer.” “Yes exactly, like hockey and beer.” “No I said foot… nevermind. What about maple syrup, is it true you put it on almost everything?” “That is a ridiculous rumour. We don’t put it on almost everything, we put it on literally everything.” “That can’t be right, you put it on burgers? In cereal, coffee, beer? On sandwiches, steak, bacon?” “You bet we do. On bacon, coffee, bacon, beer, bacon, sandwiches, bacon, steak, bacon. And usually bacon as well.” “…… Okay well, see you around I guess. I’m going to take off to my nest.” “Yes take off eh, ya hoser.” “Hoser?” Dec 12, 2022
