The Beautiful People
There are beautiful people on the covers of magazines
They look insanely happy, their life fairly zings
Never alone, paparazzi all the time,
Could I live like this in their upward climb?
Could I bear living their rich and amazing life?
Imagining they have no worries, and no strife?
Could I get used to the money in the bank all the time?
And gobs of it, all new and crisp, no dirt or grime?
Could I imagine this kind of splendiferous life for me?
No, because I could not give up my well-fought privacy.
