From somewhere the beat of drums Steady rhythms piercing my senses Persistently thump, thumping a bass Thump, thump, thump, thumping Behind unimaginably monotonous lyrics And I longed for a crooner like Sinatra Center stage with a single spotlight No flashing strobes or crystal disco balls Or pounding migraine made to order written November 22, 2021 Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

I listen to Sinatra on a regular basis; I love the songs from the 50's and 60's the best. This made me feel safe.

That seems to spell music these days. Beat, rhythm, that pounding, haunting...seems to be where it is at, although Disco 4/4 is still very much alive and thriving in P.V., Mex.

Interesting... Made me long for folk music... I remember Sinatra's later hits being more of the boom, boom, strobe variety actually. Oh, well. Love old Blue Eyes songs, anyway. ~ Jersey Guy

Almost anything beats (oops) those continual beating of drums to non-existent or unintelligible lyrics.
