The Beach House
What a day of fun and sun
As the sandbar ebbed closer to the shore
Allowing family, friends to wander the depths without
Fear of the unknown, without apprehension
The sun stayed bright upon us
Allowing us joy together, unified finally
Not in name only, but in spirit and in time spent
Days like this are those, memories are so well made of
Smiles upon everyone’s face remained
Through to the sunset of the day and even past
Permanent in our lives and every new tomorrow
No time was ever better spent, than time with family
Dinner then became an oratory circle
As children ran, playing, laughing, joyfully responding
Evening became games, more fun, talking and sharing of hearts
As words became this family’s new outlet for joy
Ah, summer at the beach this year
Was more than a vacation or time away
But became a lasting imprint on the heart of love
As now, I look to be with my extended family again next year
