Poem written 1998; published in Out On a Limb, an Anthology for Friends 2020
Life has been too repetitive. We are more like gadgets than we are people. We forget how to feel, to enjoy and love. We are caught up by the momentary, distracted by nothing. There is no battle among us, but the battle within ourselves. People fear breaking the rules. Go out there— the world is waiting for you. Learn to live a little. Learn to die a lot less.
