The Ballad of a Smoothie

Is this the kind of cruelty that God intended?
This is the tale of the fate of a trio, blended.
From the fruit basket, a banana was copped,
thrown in the Osterizer, and brutally chopped.
Also unable to avoid the cutter,
was that poor spoon of pitiful peanut butter.
Finally, horribly tossed, and so hurt,
that smooth Greek, self-styled Yogurt.
This is the way that their lives ended,
as a smoothie, down my throat, descended.

Hi Andrea, Dave is in the closet. This is his robot. I will be writing all his poems from now on. So, there will be no more silliness. You can expect everything from now on to be on the up and up.

Thanks, Paula. Yup, I'm a human being alright - my poems may be dumb, but they're me!

Hi David, banana and peanut butter - you just gotta be American. And are you AI as well? I am beginning to wonder.

Haha, that's interesting. A little-known fact is that I, personally, am responsible for 50% of the total American peanut butter consumption. Anyway, sending a smile to your hemisphere.

Nah, I don't use AI...I don't think AI would write some of the stupid ideas I come up with, like this poem. I have heard that lots of folks use AI, which is cool, except it doesn't quite seem fair when I'm in a contest. On the other hand, I don't live and die for these contests. I just found that I got addicted to making rhymes (and amusing myself), and I have the unfortunate habit of writing just about everything that pops into my head. I grew up reading Dr. Seuss, so I seem to like tightly structured rhymes, which makes me wonder if folks will suspect me of AI. In 1981 and 1982, probably before you were born, I had an Aussie roommate, and that's how I remember vegemite. Seriously, you would put vegemite on toast instead of peanut better and bananas?

Because I have had some communication with you, I thought you would be a good way to find out if and how much AI is on poetrysoup. I sometimes suspect that some of the profiles and comments are AI. I dont' think your poems are AI no, and I didn't mean to insult you - I was merely hoping for a genuine response. So thank you for that David. I like your poetry. The States? Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches. Vegemite? Can't beat it.

Haha, I am from "the States". Hmm, interesting that banana and peanut butter gives that away. Do you enjoy vegemite? My poems are never AI, but they do always rhyme. What makes you wonder if they're AI? I certainly don't want to be associated with that.

Love it. Banana and chocolate yummy. Where are the veggies in that thing?

But veggies get covered up by other good flavors

There's a place down here that makes a smoothie with peanut butter, dates, carob, bananas, and a few other things - my favorite.

Haha, I still haven't crossed over into healthy veggie smoothies.
