The backside of a woolly sheep

Do you have an alias ,diverts from your given name
Or the name you daily usehas it always been the same

At his birthday aged eleven,the boy he was given a brand new gladstone bag
And on it his initials were engraved, Henceforth from that celebratory day,
the high school students always called him DAG

In our Aussie/English language, 
so many words have a double meaning
Here is an example 
of how these thoughts are leaning

The poo that adheres to the backside of a woolly sheep
in the farming community it is commonly referred to as a DAG
When the boy was oft confronted, with the comment , why don;t you drop off
he rued those initials engraved on that gladstone bag

There is always a bright side 
when adversity fills the van
Dag can also mean
that you are a humorous man
It's the second definition 
to which he endow
Which lifted  waning spirits, when sometimes it was
the way that he did bow

So now when immersed in an eager listening crowd
he titillatingly invites them to elicit a loud guffaw
Be it one individual or may be six or ten
if you use his christian name there will always be rapport

And the mans name , coincidentally it is Douglas, he's not dropped off
still hanging around, not as a sheepish kind of DAG
But never now is he referred to,
 as the initials on that gladstone bag
