The Auction
A very large auction was held one day
For all the lost souls who had passed away
A strong fiery man stood straight and tall
And called his price for them one and all!
I bid on each one there in that line
I want them, you hear, THEY'RE MINE ALL MINE!
They took no time, to learn the truth!
Look at their souls; see there's your proof!
Then suddenly a silence came over them all
For a Beautiful Light fell over that hall!
The strong fierce man seemed suddenly on fire
For he knew right then what was to transpire!
SET THOSE FREE WHO BELIEVED said the voice from the Light
It was I who paid it all that dark lonely night!
These souls can't pay the price, for their future, you see
It must be My blood that sets them free!
Not one was pulled from that long, long line
The Light passed over, but not one could HE find?
The strong evil man screamed loud to all
NO NO look again these turned from your call.
They heard your promise and though it was good
They did not believe and beside me stood!
Quickly the light faded, total darkness fell still
Then the wails and moans came loud and shrill
For it was too late, the gavel slammed down
SOLD to the man where darkness is found!
Sold now forever to burn and pay
Oh why, Oh why, did they turn away?
