The Appreciation Stage

What we are,
Who we are,
Why this Unveiled Truth?

We borrow the body's skin.
Loving and admiring,
All the hearts around us.
Instead of taking
And shaping it
Into our own.

Let them be happy.
Let them love you
From their distance.
Know the emanating
Glow will reach you
When you yourself
Are ready to begin
The Appreciation Stage.

Too many of us don't appreciate others for who they are, instead we just want to change them, when we are the ones who need changing... Your poem leaves the reader with much to think about... Really well written and expressed, Matt.

Interesting view on appreciation. I like the setting as a stage of sorts which of course it truly is. Oh what duplicity lies beneath the skin on which is spent so much money. Thanks for stretching, inspiring our thoughts this week, Matt.
