The Answer Sought

When the wind has taken hold,
from the north and bitter cold,
when the compass needle spins,
secrets holed up deep within.

When the phantom's shadow's cast,
find the future in the past,
when the owl demands to know,
who will stay and who will go.

When the shadows of the moon,
spread and lengthen in the room,
when the banshee's at the door,
and hearts that pounded beat no more.

When the blind man laughs with glee,
seeing what we cannot see,
remember then what you forgot,
and seek to find the answers sought.

I like these poems that provoke thought. I find it surprising but there are still portions of my brain that still function. God Bless. Vince
