The Angel's Ashes

As she lies there cold and still, With a peaceful smile upon her face, Tears fall from the heavens, Landing upon the blackened ground, As I sit there silent and full of grief. Falling from the heavens I cry out loud, Begging for release of the pain of loss, Or at least some hope. I know that you’re gone, But I can still feel you here next to me, As I look upon the rising dawn, I realize that I can be free. In the stillness of my imagination, I see you smiling and happy, I can tell that you finally found a safe haven, I cannot believe that this ended sadly. Time withered away the hurtful tragedy, In the air of evening the skies echo, Rejoicing the time of your memory, As we lay you to rest in the peaceful meadow. In time all of the anguish will fade, As the river flows on by towards the sea, And all that has been weighed, Shall be set free.
